Bathing and Grooming
One of the more common treatments for dermatological problems is therapeutic bathing and dips. There are a wide variety of shampoos and dips to relieve itching from allergies, mange, yeast problems, infections, or just minor skin irritations, and many of those products are available for both professional and home use.
Dietary Counseling
The best way to keep your pet happy and healthy is to provide a nutritious diet suitable for his or her age and lifestyle. The problem arises when trying to figure which food to buy out of all the different types and brands available! There are so many different foods on the market that it is easy to become confused about which is the best for your pet, and that's where our doctors come in. They'll take the time to discuss the different types with you and try to guide you toward what best fits your budget and your needs.
Sometimes you'll find that there is no food sold on the open market that is appropriate for you pet, (often because of food allergies or intolerance) and in that case a prescription diet may be in order. We carry a large variety of prescription diets in stock at all times, and are always happy to place a special order for you if we don't have exactly what you're looking for.

Dentistry
We all know it is important to have good dental hygiene, and your pet is no exception to the rule. Unfortunately, your pet doesn't know how to brush and floss twice a day, so extra care is often necessary to maintain good health. The level of influence your pets oral health has on their general health is surprising - in fact, it has been shown that up to 80% of all kidney, liver, and heart valve disease can be traced to poor dental care. What's more, 85% of the patients we see have some degree of periodontal disease, such as gingivitis. Since your pet's dental hygiene is so critical, we have many different ways to help keep their teeth in shape - special food, enzymatic chews, enzymatic toothpaste, and rinses help keep your pet's mouth healthy at home, and periodic visits for a dental cleaning ensure that those pearly-whites stay dazzling.
Our dentistry equipment is state-of-the-art, and includes two high-speed treatment machines plus a special digital dental X-ray machine that helps us detect diseases under the gums even more rapidly than before. Now we can almost instantly view any diseases below the gumline, repeat views rapidly and keep your pet under anesthesia less time! Of course, we follow the same strict standards of care with our dentistry patients as with our surgery patients. Pain prevention and treatment is provided in all cases.

Laboratory
Many of our laboratory procedures are performed in-house, which allows us to see the results quickly. We routinely run complete blood chemistries, complete blood counts, urinalyses, heartworm tests, viral tests, and countless types of cytological tests.
However, just as no one person can be all things to all people, no lab can be the best at every test - that's why we routinely send samples to commercial laboratories and universities around the country for analysis. Each laboratory has its own strengths, so we choose the best in each area for every test. With few exceptions, we have the results the day after we send the sample for analysis, and we will contact you as soon as possible.
